Working Day
Working day, your call time could be 7 am or 12 pm, so if you accept the booking, you must be available ALL day. No one can tell you how long you will be on set each day. There are too many variables to determine that. Some good info for possible working day hours:
- Under 12 years old: can work 8 hours plus 1-hour unpaid lunch
- 12-15-year-olds: can work 10 hours plus 1-hour unpaid lunch
- 16-17-year-olds: can work 12 hours plus 1-hour unpaid lunch
- 18+: as long as needed
Call times can vary significantly depending on the production schedule. Your call time could be as early as 7 am or as late as 12 pm. Regardless of your call time, you must be available for the entire day.
The production will inform you of your specific call time before your working day. Always plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before your call time.
To work with our agency, you must have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) and all legal documents required to work in Canada. Legal authorization to work in Canada is mandatory. Please note: A study permit alone is not sufficient for employment. Your child must have a separate work permit. Your parental work permit does not cover your child’s employment. All workers must maintain valid work authorization in compliance with Canadian law. Children aged 16 and under must be accompanied by a chaperone aged 21 or older during work.
The length of time you will be on set each day is unpredictable and can vary based on multiple factors:
- Production schedule changes
- Weather conditions (for outdoor shoots)
- Technical issues
- Director's decisions
- Scene complexity
Because of these variables, it's impossible to predict exactly how long each working day will be.
